IIIT Delhi is an independent state university and an autonomous institute just like the IITs.. It is not related to DTU/DU/IP in any manner
in that case go for jiit ........ iiit is very new ...... no batch has passed out of it ..... dont take a risk by opting it

yes u may get IT ,,, but not in 1st counselling , preference order should be filled according to your interest . GO WITH the stream which u get ... later u will get upgraded to a better brach [according to ur preferance] .... JIIT is better than JUIT , and yes upgradation from juit to jiit or vice versa is not possible

u may ..... MAY get 5yrs dual degree in noida [ but there are less chances for that ]
u have bright chances of getting cse or ece in sector 128 noida
i did not hear any such news that very few people filld the form .....
Jaypee never advertises like amity or manavrachna .... actually JIIT does not need to advertise as it has already established its name

jaypee - 128 sector is not as gud as juit or jiit ... but is surely better than jaypee guna ...... 128 sector is new , but is growing fast .... in 4-5 years it will be better than juit .....

and yes being a deemed university surely helps [ it adds value]
hi sir i am a student and gave aieee exam i got 46000 air (in general category )and i am a Delhi resident and gave ipu exam i got 1400 rank in it by this rank in aieee i am expecting no counseling call from nits or dce i have been interested in biotechnology and hve applied for it as i have heard that biotech in jiit is good i have also been called in jiit counseling on 29 th June 2011 at solan but at same time i am getting cs and it and ece (all)in bvp and mait and due to negative point of biotech engineering that the scope in it is almost 0 or nil in India or very narrow as compared to abroad and going abroad is not too simple really confused what to do pls guide me as soon as possible

bvp, mait and jiit are almost at same level but
+jiit scores good at placement level.
- jiit has higher fees than bvp nd mait
NOW---- the decision depends on ur priorities
IF U WANT TO GO FOR MBA or M.TECH immediately after btech then u may choose bvp or mait
but
if u want to go for JOB[ get work experience of 2-3 years] nd then go for post graduation , then u should certainly choose JIIT
hello aalekh ----- i think u should opt for juit[ if u get a good branch] becoz jiit 128 sector is just 2 years old [ no batch has been passed out yet - so cant be sure of placements] although 128 sector will grow fast but still it will take about 5-7 years for jiit 128 sector to beat juit . SO GO FOR JUIT.
nd for it in 62 sec --- its tough at ur rank [after upgradation it may go till 52000-55000 but not till 63k]

i think u should take jiit 128 sector as at ur rank it is very tough to get juit . NO batch of jiit 128 sector has passed out so cant comment on whether the placements are held together or no .

U should be happy that u got 128 sector ---- it is better than jaypee guna.
Even in 4-5 years it will be better than JUIT also. It is growing very fast.
@Akshit ---- U should choose JUIT cse. Currently JUIT>JIIT sec 128, so go for it.

I also have a news for all.
In about 4 years, admissions to jiit sector 62 will be closed. jiit sector 62 will become Jaypee business school.
JIIT sector 62 will shift to sector 128.
Then there will be no segregation, there will be only one JIIT.
IT MEANS THAT All the value of jiit sector 62 will transfer to 128 sector. And certainly this will help the students of 128 sector who are already studying there.
[But its is not 100% sure till there is an official announcement]

With this rank you should go for CSE in JIIT or CSE Thapar or CSE/ECE in Mid level NIT's...
In JIIT u will get ample time to study for MBA because studies are very easy....and u can join CL/TIME in CP branch for coaching which is considered the best one and the main one.

yes u can expect jiit sector 62 which is better than jaypee hp at 40-45k rank ....... but u might not get through in first counselling nd may not get cse or ece .... buh eventually u will get upgraded from IT to cse after sometime
@apurv --- mech is a tough branch ... by tough i mean seriously tough ... take mech only if u have solid interest in it.
and if u are planning to mba then the clg does not matter that much ... one chooses clg seeing infrastructure, faculty and the most important thing ---> placement . All these clg have good infra , faculty nd placements but still if we arrange them then it is thapar>jiit>lnmiit.
some points to be considered -> fees [ thapar is really very costly]
being in ncr will help u alot -> likewise MBA coaching is best in metro cities like delhi, bangalore .... [ CL/TIME in CP are the best]
in places like jaipur u may not get proper coaching for mba ....
its ur decission take it wisely .. it can make or break your life

placement is decent for biotech students --- 80-90% students get placed nd the average package is 3.25 lakhs ...

those stats show cse ended at 43k in last counseling .... but even after last counseling there are some students who drop out and there are up gradations till the end of semester 1 ... so u might not get cse in first counseling but chances are there for last counseling .... if u dont get cse then take IT--- its a gud branch ... even i am in IT .... eventually u will get upgraded to cse .... nd buddy i am here to answer to your queries ..... u may ask as many queries as u want
of course japyee noida is better than jaypee solan .... nd u will get cse in second counselling .... if u have a cgpa of 5.8 or more then u will get multiple offers .... avg package is 3.5 lacs [ which is very decent for freshers]

it is still a deemed university and has not been blacklisted ..... the court has put a stay order on this thing .... this news came about 2 years ago but still has not made a impact on the placements ....
but it has had a slight impact on the closing ranks
2 years ago the closing rank of ece-30k cse-30k IT-36k
now the closing ranks have gone to ece-40k cse-40k IT-50k ...... take it as an opportunity that students who used to repent at 40-50k rank of not getting a decent clg can now get a gud clg like jiit .... nd mark my words ... in 2-3 years the cut off ranks will improve nd one wont get jiit at 40k rank ....

even i had a call from nit srinagar, raipur nd one frm east ..... even nit manipur is very new ....no placement data [ trust me ... first few batches have to suffer coz of lack of infra, companies will take time to establish trust of the quality level nd many things more]
give cse as ur first option nd IT as second .... u might get IT but chances for cse are less .... still if u get IT just stay with it .... IT ppl have a better placement% than cse ones

its tough to get bit patna at 30k rank ..... but u will get jiit nd lnmiit at this rank ..... jiit is better than lnmiit in almost all the departments ....

jiit IT sec 62 has placements better than this .... these stats show that avg package is around 2.80 - 3 lakhs .... nd min package is 1.20 .... does an engineering student get 10k per month ??? even the auto wala earns more than this ...
in jiit the min package is 3 lacs .... max depend on year to year ... but is usually from 7.5-10 lacs .... nd the avg is 3.5 lakhs ...

first of all it is not black listed ..... this is not about being black listed .... its about whether it remains a deemed university or not ??? the court is yet to make decision on this .... till the time the court takes its decision the deemed univ status will remain .... the case is in the court from 2 years but it has not made an effect on the placements ... companies have faith in the quality of students .... we dont know when the decision will come ... it might take 2-4 years more ... till then so many batches will be passed out .... lets take the 10% chance that if the decision comes against the clg then also the students already studying will be given a deemed univ degree coz when they had taken the admission the status was the same .
what will happen to the clg after that??

all branches r gud .... it depends on interest to interest .... i did not had an interest for electronics ... so i did not even mentioned in the choice performa[ even if i had filled it i wont have got it :P ] ...
placement wise both are almost the same [more or less the same ] .... up gradations continue till the open counseling of aieee .... till september ....
if u get upgraded to a higher priority branch mentioned in the choice performa according to ur merit rank nd will be informed accordingly ...
no idea about CUSAT ... sorry buddy :)

Sir i have a big problem. Due to the blacklisting of JP Noida, my father is not in favour of this college. My AIR is 26032 and i have to reach for councelling on 29 June. Should i go for councelling or not. Do we have to take the admission on the same day as the councelling or we can take afterwards also, but just booking our seat there. I do have options for BIT Patna and Nirma Institute of Technology. Pleas reply asap!!!

go for the counseling .... and tell ur father to ask all the doubts from the registrar or the vice chancellor .... he will guide ur father ....
u can opt for BIT patna .... but please dont choose NIRMA over JIIT ...

eventually u will get cse ... may be in last counselling or while upgradation ....if u dont get cse initially then go for IT ...
getting hostel at the start of clg seems very tough ... but u will definately get hostel in 2nd sem [when the 4th years leave the hostel] ...

i hav heard from a senior girl there that those who gets hostel in 2nd sem are temporary and and the person has to empty it after every sem. so is it true for the boys hostel also or the person gets a permanent hostel when he gets it in 2nd sem?

@shubham .... yes u heard it right from the senior girl .... in 2nd sem usually all get hostel for 1 sem ... but if there is a permanent space available then once gets it for all time [merit wise] ....
upgradation example ->
u fill choices as follow
1. jiit cse
2. jiit IT
3. JIIt biotech
according to merit u might get IT till the last counselling nd u take admission into IT .[check that at the time u book ur seat for IT , how many seats are already taken .... if u r one of the last person getting into IT then u might not be upgraded coz before u many other students will be offered cse
[if they have given it a higher priority than IT]
at the time of counseling u will be give the waitlist rank for cse/ece ... if it is less than 50 then u have a gud chance for upgraded.
many students who have gud rank like 15k-24k usually book their seat till they get into a better clg like thapar .... when they get into these clgs there will be empty seats in that particular branch -> then the students with waitlist rank of that particular branch are given that seat.
it will take a month for sure ...
